20-year-old Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund is unlikely to join Arsenal in the summer of 2023.

According to a report by Fabrizio Romano via CaughtOffside, Rasmus Hojlund is unlikely to move away from Atalanta in the summer amidst interest from Arsenal. The 20-year-old has been impressive in the little time that he has got on the pitch.

Hojlund has already scored six goals in the Serie A in his debut season. Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have been keen on signing the 20-year-old. The Gunners have been linked with the striker by multiple media outlets. But Fabrizio Romano does not see Arsenal as an option for the Denmark Under-21 star.

Rasmus Hojlund joined Atalanta ahead of the ongoing season from Sturm Graz. The 20-year-old has featured in a total of 29 matches and has been directly involved in 18 goals. He has managed it in 1,761 minutes, an average he has been involved in a goal every 136 minutes.

Those are staggering numbers for any forward, let alone for a 20-year-old in his first season at a club. Hojlund’s form has attracted a lot of attention. But Romano believes he is likely to stay at the club for another season.

There are talks about the player being unhappy because of the amount of time he has been on the pitch. Hojlund does not want to be on the bench and wants to feature in every match. And, that is the only concern for Atalanta at the moment.

The Gunners are interested in the player, but he is unlikely to move in the upcoming window. With Eddie Nketiah, Folarin Balogun, and Gabriel Jesus in their ranks, pushing for the 20-year-old does not really make sense.

Balogun, currently out on loan at Ligue 1 club Reims has been on fire. The 21-year-old striker has been a revelation since his move to France. He is currently fighting it out with Jonathan David and Kylian Mbappe for the golden boot. All three of them are level on 15 goals each.

The 21-year-old might not have managed to break into the Arsenal first team but he is likely to play a major part next season having showcased his quality in the French top flight. With three quality strikers in their ranks Arsenal are unlikely to push for Hojlund. And, Atalanta are also not interested in letting the 20-year-old leave in the summer.
